Crafting Culinary Excellence

Gourmet Dining

Our Legacy of Flavor and Community

The Frungillo family has been a cornerstone of New Jersey’s culinary landscape since the 1920s. Alfred and Jerry Frungillo, along with their sister Anna and her husband Fred Finelli, laid the foundation by opening a market in Newark. This venture, known as Finellis Grocery, thrived due to the family’s relentless dedication and community focus. In 1972, Alfred Frungillo established Frungillo Caterers, which quickly became a leader in off-premise catering. The family’s commitment to quality and service led to the founding of Michael Anthony’s Restaurant and Caterers in 1981. By 1987, Gourmet Dining was born, expanding into the higher education sector under the leadership of Al Frungillo and his sons. Today, Gourmet Dining is renowned for its ability to cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences, continually innovating to enhance the dining experience across numerous campuses.
